There be a storm a-brewing
Morning all.
my house is currently shaking in, out, all about and even a tiny bit up. Southampton is having the worst storm for 25 years, massive winds, lashings of rain and just a tiny bit of seismic activity, or so it feels like.
usually Southampton has fairly average rain, drizzle most of the time with a few calm and clear days, so its quite exciting to have something quite wild for a change. this must be similar to what its like when a hurricane visits, although i imagine its a bit more on the edge of your seat drama whereas now it just feels like a busy extension of the tube runs under my house. whilst i found the sound of roaring winds a little creepy to start off with, ive gotten used to it, and it actually sounds quite exciting now.
the only thing is, while we are quite safe here, i mean the worst that could happen is our garden floods and a few (more) tiles come off, there might be people in quite considerable danger in more rural areas.
i hope my Nans are alright. My mums mum Nanny Iris, or Nanny Pete we usually call her after my late granddad, lives quite away from us in Horton Heath, which i like a little village about 45 mins (on the bus) away from us, so i hope she's alright. i know she has a lot of trouble sleeping, and i hate the thought of her up all night worrying. mind you she dosnt worry nearly enough as Mary, my other Nan. honestly she could worry about absolutly anything, and sometimes we do tease her a bit (okay quite a lot then)
she's got a huge big garden on a valley, and after a lot of rain the bottom always floods, as there is a little stream that runs through. she had a chicken coup at the bottom and a huge shed that has all sorts of stuff in it. my other set of grandparents i dont care too much about. they live in a retirement home away from us, so i dont have much to do with them.
im back to work tomorrow after a long weekend, which was nice, except for the fact i was asleep for most of it. i went to see my friend Steph and her band play, and as usual they were AMAZING! we all got a bit tipsy and i went home at about 1, where i ordered pizza and garlic bread, which was really nice.
im working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, so another long weekend off but i think im going to suffer this week.im feeling unusally tired today, and am having trouble keeping my eyes open.
i think i am looking forward to sitting down and really working out my goals for the year. im doing it differently this year, i am starting them in November this year, because i have got a lot that i want to achieve, so im going to start early and really try to get there.
theres not really much else to talk about really. other than the fact our store visit went really well, which really makes me feel good about all that hard work i put in. Mr Rabbit even said hello to me as he left, while i stood there in trakkies, a miss matched top and messy hair. well its impossible to look good and work hard so i didnt even bother. i feel like official visits from head office leave me feeling sometimes quite under appreciated. when you think that i did two night shifts in which i cleaned the entire store and then size tidied and pipped about a third, and all for a thanks from my managers, and for Mr Rabbit to have a quick whish around and then to leave. i almost wish he could have had a proper good look, and then came up to me to personally thank me for putting so much effort in. that would really be a nice gesture, which would only take a few minutes for him, but it would mean the world to me.
anyways, its nearly 5, so i am gonna muck about for a bit longer, before i sleep, and i shall return around 2ish tomorrow, have a good day! :)
