Bag it up!

It seems the old classics are still just as good as they always were, although say that you like Geri Halliwell now and you run the risk of being deemed "socially unacceptable". I'm listening to Bag it up, one of my favourite songs from Geri's album Schizophrenic, which I used to listen every week while preparing the newspapers for my paper round. But that's by the by. I wanted to follow up with the non English number ones for you, which I have just googled. 1) Je t'aime by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin 2) Rock me Amadeus by Falco 3)La bamba by Los Lobos 4) Sadeness by Enigma 5)We speak no Americano by Yolanda be cool vs Dcup 6)Gangnam style by Psy So I managed to get two out of six. Not bad, although I am disappointed I didn't manage to get We speak no Americano. I knew there was a German language number one (Falco) But I couldn't remember if it was Ein Bissen frieden by Nicole, or 99 luftballons by Nena. And rather amusingly it was neit...

From Zero To Hero.

Well it's been an exciting week. Last weekend I worked, and was more than a little dissapointed that I had no plans for this weekend, but rather surprisingly, I have a semi long weekend with plenty to do. Result! I finish work at 8am on friday, so a couple of hours sleep then I shall be meeting Rachel at the boat shop cafe, our most favourate haunt and injoke. Then a quick change and something nice done to my hair and I'm going round Kims with Sarah for drinks and a chat about the week's events. Then saturday daytime Atticus will be coming round. I love Atticus to bit's, he is my best friend Sarah's dog, and he is absolutly brilliant. I know it sounds strange, but he is a dog with a sense of humour! He is just so sweet and has a very cheeky grin about him. I'm looking after him (Although knowing my mum she will be all over him like a rash! My mum loves dogs, and I imagine the diggie treat jar will be empty when he leaves). Then saturday night Atticus is having...

Moving on up?

So I had my interview to start moving up the ladder at work yesterday. Basically a section co-ordinator is the step between salesfloor staff and a manager. The lady who used to be the section co for kidswear and customer services is stepping down due to health reason's, and six of us have gone for the job. I'm not holding out too much hope, because there is one applicant who has been put forward to become a manager and is almost certainly going to get it, But it's good because it has given me experience of what a formal interview will be like, especially since my last one was nearly four years ago. It was really nerve racking, especially because each task I was given was designed to make you stress and to make silly little mistakes. I managed to correct a couple of the first part, which was creating a functional staffing sheet. That wasn't too bad, I have some experience of doing staffing boards, so I managed to do that well (I think). The second part was about what I...

Indifferent news

Well hello again. I come with news, although I'm not sure whether it is good, bad or indifferent. Sam, my friend who led me to believe he was going to kill himself dopped a bombshell yesterday. I've recently started talking to him again, but things are still a bit off. But we were talking yesterday on the phone and he said would I like to go to a wedding with him. Of course, I panicked and tried to evade the question without sucess. But in all fairness I can't go. For a start, I am a complete stranger to this couple getting married, and you don't want a load of random nutter's turning up to your special day. Secondly, I wouldn't feel comfortable being with him there, because that poses a lot of awkward questions. And that bring's me onto the next part. He said he was putting himself forward to me as a candidate. That confused me, so I asked what for. He said he wanted to become a candidate for a boyfriend. Me being a complete thicko, still didn't under...
Hello, and good afternoon. It has been a while. So the past few weeks have been absolutly mental. We got back from holdiday after going to some amazing place's. Rome, Cartagena and Santiago De Compostela were my favourates. Rome in particular deserves a shout out. A sprawling metropolis of winding street's and crazy roads, it really was the most exciting place I have ever been. We walked past the colleseum (I think I spelt that right) The palatine hill, Trajan's mall, the Vatican. The Vatican caused a bit of a stir. Because it was a sunday, the pope was going to give a blessing to the crowd's below. Not surprisingly, I didn't fancy bursting into flames as he said amen, so I decided to do a bit of exploring myself. I walked along the banks of the mighty Tiber, explored Rome's tiny street's and wide avenue's. After nearly being killed by car's, buses, taxis, moped's, trams and of course, the dreaded cyclist, I treated myself to a little of Italy...
