Targoviste

Targoviste is a pretty little town easily done in a day trip from Bucharest. You'll need to head to the Basarab bus station, and they were every hour or so (when i was there).

Its a historical place, with lots of old ruins and churches dotted about the place, the best being the Targoviste fortress. Its a great complex, with ruins, a tower and a church to explore. Targoviste was previously a capital of Romania, and the grand ruins stand testament to that fact.

This was the view from the tower, where you can see former buildings in the grass.

There's also a police museum, which didn't allow photos, but had some interesting displays about the creation of the police force within Romania.

Also worth a visit is the market, there's all kind of delicious baked goods worth trying there!

next up is my last stop in Romania, Constanta, and it was the one I was looking forward to the most. And I was not disappointed!
