He misses Sahira more than the Sahara misses rain- part 5

"I know how you feel about this Greg, but you have to accept that nothing can happen between us" Sahira said, her eyes misty with tears. "Why can't you accept that?"
"Because" Greg replied, a solitary tear rolling down his cheek, "We've been through so much together, we can make this work."
She stepped away from him, her face distorted with anger. "OH IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT YOU ISN'T IT?" she screamed, louder than she had ever screamed before. Sahira was boiling with rage, her soul becoming a tempest that threatened to sink anything that dare came close.
"What about Indy? Whats going to happen to him? and Raffi? We've been married for twelve years, then you had to come along, with your Irish charm and smooth talking, and you just expect the first Tom, Dick and Harry to jump into bed with you, We aren't all easy like Marie-Claire you know! This is the real world Greg, not some random little sat's are good, vitals are lower than fantasy. What you do has real repercussions for keep squeezing in fluids everyone around you and he's coming around, Greg are you okay???"
Sahira's angry faced slowly merged into a tear-stained Devon's.
"Oh my god, Greg are you ok???" Devon cried, letting out a sigh of relief as he handed Greg a cup of water.
"Why...why is everything so white??" Greg said, squinting as he sat up.
Devon and another doctor exchanged glances.
"Greg" Devon whispered. "Umm, well you've been in a coma for four days, and-"
"WHAT?" Greg shouted out, his voice crackling.
Devon seemed to well up a bit as he nodded. "You fell, and you hit your head on the table, and it was really touch and go for a while and...and"
The other doctor came over and helped Devon stand up. "He needs some rest, and so could you, go and get a coffee and get some air"
Devon slowly nodded and after giving a watery smile to Greg he left.
"Quite a loyal boyfriend you have there Mr Douglass" the doctor said. She had short ginger hair, and was very, very tall.
"He's...umm... not my boyfriend. He's just a...work friend." Greg stammered, his left arm twitching.
"Well he's certainly very loyal, he hasn't left your bedside for a second. And i would know, i'm here full time" The ginger doctor replied, and went to answer the phone.
Greg looked around him. On the bedside table next to him, there was a big bunch of flowers from everyone on the ward where he worked, there was a pile of magazines like Nuts, Zoo and FHM from Xanthe, and a bottle of vodka from Yana but it was the dark red shiny apple that caught Greg's attention, and he knew exactly who had given him that. The overhead lights and the monitor were reflected by it, and it gave off a heavenly, sweet scent.
