He misses Sahira more than the Sahara misses Rain

Greg was having a good day, one of the new F2's had stolen his stethoscope, four of his patients had died, and worst of all, it was Sahira's birthday. He was torn between sending her a text, just saying happy birthday, or completely ignoring it. He looked out over the car-park of Southampton city general hospital, and then at the sky for some inspiration. There was a flock of bird's flying across the sky, to a cloud which looked like a heart.
"fuck it" he said to himself, his Irish twang filling the air. Happy Birthday :) xx he wrote. he then frantically deleted the kisses. Then put them back in again.
"GREG! I NEED YOU!" Shouted one of the nurses into the staff room. Greg threw his phone into his pocket and dashed out onto the ward. One of his patients, Mrs Bryanston, had just crashed, and one of the other doctors, Yana, was applying pads to her chest.
"right move" he said to her elderly husband and grabbed the paddles. "everybody clear?" Yana and the nurse moved away from the bed. "clear!" he shouted and shocked her. Yana looked at him.
"Still no response Greg" she said, her Russian accent wrapping round him, filling him with confidence and power.
"Charge to 200! clear!" he yelled again, and shocked Mrs Bryanston. The monitor gave a healthy sounding beep.
"She's back with us" Yana said calmly, and pulled the bars up on the bed to keep Mrs Bryanston in the bed.
"We need to get her into theater, this pacemaker needs to be replaced".
He nodded. "book her in, i'll be there in 5"
He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and dashed back into the staff room. It was the only room in the building (aside from the rooftop and the ladies toilets on the third floor) that had any signal for his mobile.

He put one kiss on the end, and sent it. he stood there for a moment, expecting it to burst into flames and for the devil to rise up and pull him kicking and screaming into the dark fiery depths of hell. all that happened was the toaster pinged. He grabbed the toast and dashed off to replace Mrs Bryanston s pacemaker.

                                                                                 ***

"The operation was a success Mrs Bryanston, we think you will be just fine" Greg said to her. He kept his hand in his pocket, so he could feel his phone vibrate when Sahira text's him back.
"Please my dear" Mrs Bryanston said, "call me June, and Robert here has some scones, please help yourself Doctor".
Greg put up a hand a politely refused, and spoke with her for a while about the medication. He could feel his attention being pulled to the reception desk over in the corner where the nurse's station was. He finished discussing with June and made his way over there. Yana was sat there on the computer checking her emails, but there was something over here. A new energy, perhaps? Greg wasn't sure, but he knew something was up. There was that electricity in the air, similar to when he was on the prowl for a new female. Only it was him who was doing the prowling.Somebody else was. He didn't like this new feeling, he liked being in control, yet it excited him, but it was unnerving. He cast a look around the ward, looking for the person responsible for this new wild feeling.

It reminded him of that summer evening back at Holby. It had been stifling hot, and Marie-Claire was int he staff room, having a break. The heat had made him tired, yet it did wonders for his libido. His instinct's had been sharpened, the hairs on the back of his neck had stood on end, and he could hear every noise she made. Each little moan, each little breath, each little heartbeat.

"GREG!!!!!" Yana yelled at him, rousing him from his daydream. "Are you just going to stand there gawping, or are you going to sort this mess out?"
Greg looked down at the floor. There was about 30 patients folders, all spread over the floor, where he must have knocked them while he was thinking about Marie-Claire. He gently bent down and started scooping them up when he heard a throat being cleared. He stood up to see the CEO of the hospital, Mr Darren Edwards stood by him, giving Greg an odd look.
"I take it once you have finished making a mess then you can go and show our new Consultant around, yes?"
Mr Edwards had that same cold Aura about him like old battle axe Hansson did, but Edwards had a strange charisma, that made it very difficult to think around him.And it wasn't just Greg, even Yana, who had met Putin while on holiday in Russia one time had a trouble speaking her mind around him.Not that they were scared, he just had a quality which you knew not to test."One day i'll have a nice boss" Greg thought to himself, and stood up, to find him self face to face with the new consultant. Long black hair which glitters in the lights, a very thin frame, perfectly chiseled cheekbones. Then he realized the consultant was male. The energy that surrounded Greg seemed to Dimmer, but it remained there none the less...
