Girona Part Two

Is this not, the greatest piece of medieval artwork? Or possibly in the history of art? Not only is it a fun image, but it's very clever, as you can take two meanings from it. One is that the Virgin Mary is sick to death of all this religious nonsense and is trying to get the Bishop to leave her alone so she can breastfeed in peace and quiet. But you could also take from it that the Virgin Mary is so important and holy, that squirting breast milk into a bishop's eyes is seen as a blessing. Take whatever you like from this art!

There's lots to see in the museum, but also take a quick look at the Saint Felix Basilica. Its by no means life changing, but its a very beautiful example of baroque/rococo art. (Sorry, I can never remember which one is which)

It's also worth paying a visit to Jardens dels Alemanys (Castle Gardens) a beautiful selection of green space, artistic plants, ruins & more, spread across the city. Start at the top and work your way down. It also gives you some welcome respite from the heat

Truly beautiful, and peaceful too. But that peace isn't going to last for long, because my next stop is BARTTTTTTTTHHHHHHAAALOOOONAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
