Gritty thinking

Today so far I have attended to two first aid incidents. The one just now was fine, just a cut finger in the fitting room. The first one was an elderly lady falling down the escalator. I think she will be fine, we got the ambulance out and they patched her up and took her in. But there were two things that I'm really thinking hard about. The first was just the speed of which everything went back to normal. As soon as she was off the escalator and we were taking her away, the escalator was checked over, and switched back on, the blood was cleaned up, the rubbish thrown away, and it was almost like nothing had even happened. I guess maybe that's for the best, if we all stood about thinking about it, well it could get us all down. Just like it's doing to me. The second thought I had really scared me. And when I say scared, I mean I am terrified. Nothing more fills me with horror. Not a lot scares me, short term or long term. Yes I don't like spiders or large amounts of...

Big News!

Hello and good day to you all! I shall start by saying that my book is finally ready to be brought. After several months of writing, hours of editing, no lunch breaks at work and seventy long tons of chocolate, I uploaded it to Amazon, and it is now live on the website! EEK! As is mandatory, I feel a shameless need to give you the link :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Fields-Lewis-Godfray-ebook/dp/B00XNAD9ZM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1431981108&sr=8-8&keywords=New+Fields Its worth mentioning that the first person to buy it, was my Gran (Or Biddy as she likes to be called) I'm not entirely sure if she quite knows how to use her kindle, but none the less, I still feel proud to say that I am a published author with a sale. It may please you all to know, that I chose to celebrate with a bottle of parrot bay and a pizza. Some habit's die hard I guess. I'm not sure what my next avenue is going to be. I now have three very different projects. One is about a road tri...

Moving Fast

Good morning. Well I have some good news! (And at long last I should add) My novel has been completly written and edited, and the layout done. All I have to do now is decide on a title. This is the bit I am really struggling with. I have always struggled with giving thing's titles, I can only think of one, but it sounds far to cheesey and basically like the name of a soap opera. I'm going to have a brainstorming session again today, because at the moment it's the only thing holding me back form publishing it. Which brings me onto my next point. Because I have struggled with my first piece so much. (Well struggled with the editorial process in all fairness) I ended up starting another project. One about two siblings who after a while apart take a road trip across the counry, really just to hang out and explore the world around them. It's given me a lot of a creative thinking. As in, this is my own ficticious country, and so I can put whatever I like in it, within rea...

Trouble In The Camp

Well this weekend has certainly been a crazy one. Lets start off with Friday. Due to work supposedly being unable to pay me for the extra hours I did last week, I had to take it as time owing, so basically I got a day without getting paid actual money for it if that makes sense. I was fuming and made sure that I at least got a day off that I actually wanted, rather than being given a day when there was enough people in. I told my section Co, which is sort of like a supervisor, above us lowly mortal shop floor workers but below management. She was really good and gave it to me off. So Thursday night I met up and had a few drinks with my friend Simon. It was so nice to sit and talk about refreshing things like politics, socio-economic policies and radicalism. He asked me if I wanted to go back to his for a bit and I said yes. We ended up cuddling on his sofa for a bit watching the tv. I sort of got the impression that he wanted more, but I didn't know what the hell was going on. I ...

The phantom blogger has returned...

Hello Yes I am back, although I will make the point that I never really went away. I've been sat here on blogger, using the site as a way of reading and writing on the go, it's much easier than carrying around masses of folders and paper so I'm quite happy with that. First off, I should say that the (Sort off) Novel I have been writing has been going quite well up until now. I've reached that part where im starting to wrap up the looses ends ready for the ending, and im a little bit sad to say that I've nearly finished. It has taken a lot of time and effort to get this far, from sitting up late some nights editing, to spending my lunch breaks at work on the staff computer frantically trying to get some more written. In fact, the point which im writing at the moment, has given me idea's of other stories and tales, all of which are set in my own fictional country, which really helps make my stories come alive. Obviously Ireland and Serbia feature quite heavily ...

Howdy

Howdy everyone. I know ive said this before, but im back! I had yesterday day off, and i thought i would try and get a bit of work done on this project im working on. While the aim and destination of the project has gone completely awry, Im impressed at how much i managed to get done, though, it seems my creative mojo has finally gotten itself going again. Even though i haven't actually tried to sort anything out. I feel healed. Does that make sense? I just finally feel like i have turned the corner, and now i can start to make something of myself again. I think i just went through the summer last year feeling so let down and unhappy, and then Christmas came along, and that just causes havoc with everyone's mental stability. (The ones that work in retail anyway) I think now we are back to normal, ive had some time of work and as if by chance, everything has straightened itself out and i feel like i am making progress. I dont think anything is going to come out of the pr...

Another Night Shift

Hi all It seems i only ever blog while on a nightshift. Im not sure if its because being alone on my break is quite nice, and i can sit in peace and think for a bit, or just because my brain likes to go crazy in the night. Well whatever it is, here i am. Im not sure where to start really. I guess the biggest thing is my current standing. Im still single, but recently ive been meeting up more and more with a guy named James. Hes completly different to the type of guy i go for usually, but i think there is something there. Ive slept in the same bed twice with him, and its so odd, im so used to being cooped up in my single bed, its so crazy to have all thus extra space, although i do tend to roll around a lot which i think annoys him a little bit. Weve been to a few places together, im waiting for him to ask the question of making it formal and official, but right now i enjoy it. If im honest i dont think he is my soul mate, but i do like him a lot. Ive not done any writing for a lo...

Night Shift

Well hello everyone. I must apologize for being away so long, ive just been going through a real tough patch at the moment, and ive lost all appetite for pretty much anything and everything. I guess i should start with saying that yes i am on a night shift (otherwise why else would i be awake and on the computer at this time of night) We are literally ripping hoisery out, shifting shoes up, moving handbags round to the corner, stretching accesories out while forcing Hoisery into a much smaller gap. Its definatly an ambitious idea, and considering we are half way through the shift and we have only just started laying footwear out is rather ominous. Sarah and Simon are halfway though handbags, and are then moving onto accesories and tidying everything else. Me and Roz are tackling the beast that is footwear. with 5 brands of footwear, as well as wider fit styles and leather products, its fair to say its been hard work so far. even getting slippers into layout and moving walls turned ...

Back for Good?

Well hello to you all. I must start the blog of with a moan, as the title suggests, today's soundtrack has wholly consisted of cheesey crap. My morning was fine, i had my ipod in (of which i will tell you more about in a moment) I had Getter Jaani, Chennai express and Sister Sledge caressing my eardrums only the way to work, but by god was it painful today. It seems work have dug up the most out dated, most cheesey and most singable along songs in the history of mankind. And i have had enough. My most hated song is flying without wings, it kills me everytime. Not only is it an awful song, but i cant help but sing along with it, all the while resisting the urge to be dramatic as possible while serving customers. Work really know how to test your abilities of keeping drama to a minimum. But there we go. While i am on the subject of music, it is worth mentioning that i have finally dragged myself into the 21st century. I finally worked out how to set up and use the ipod i won in a...

Mindless sad ramblings

Human contact is a very odd thing, on the one hand, i desperatly crave and desire it, yet on the other hand, it terrifies me. I want to talk and to learn everything about whatever is around me, people,  items even things like weather patterns. Yet i feel so nervous at talking to people that i kind of freeze up and end up blabbing away about something that i dont even care about. I feel like i almost cant even express myself properly, either in a way that i understand, or in a way that everyone else understands. I feel as if i need to say things in a way that the person listning to me will understand, but it means everything sounds so boring and uninspired, i wonder why anyone even listens to me. This is especially true today. One of my best friends Ramona, is leaving to work in London. There is so much i want to tell her, but the words just wont come out. I cant even find the words to wish her good luck. I feel like such a bad friend. Everyone else surrounds her, wishing her luck...
