Gori

Gori is a city with a rather interesting history, it was Stalin's birthplace, and to be honest, has probably not changed much since. It also was damaged during the 2008 was between Georgia and Russia, and you can still see a few damaged buildings scattered across the city.

Aside from Uplistsiche, there's no stand out sights, but there is a ruined fortress, with some amazing metal statues, as well as a small ethnographic and archeology museum, plus a nice river area a fair walk from the centre.

Gori has very little in the way of nightlife, but this was a sort of town centre/municipal building, and it was lit up and changed colours at night, and was very nice to see!

If you visit Gori, make sure you head to the Ethnographic and archeological museum. It's small but quaint, and I received a personal tour from the lovely Nia while I was there, and made a new friend too! :)
