Mtskheta
Mtskheta is a small historical city in Georgia, only a short drive from Tbilisi. While it's not got any standout sights to see (the exception being the Jvari monastery, which I didn't get to visit) it's a pretty little town, great if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Tbilisi, and to take a walk somewhere calming and quiet.
Theres a ruined fortress in the north of the town, which I spent some time exploring, as well as a charming little old town, with beautiful Georgian houses and the smells of yummy food being cooked.
The fortress gives some great views of the valley and of the town, and is a rather nice place to sit and relax, especially as the walk there can be a physical one, but it's worth it. The sweat patches are always worth it!
