Istanbul Part 6

it seems that not even twelve days is enough time for Istanbul.

Miniaturk, while extraordinarily extravagant, is great fun. It features many of both Istanbul and Turkey's most famous sights and places of interest. For most, it's a chance to see the whole of Turkey without leaving Istanbul, for me, it was an amazing way to end my two months in Turkey, as I not only recognised, but had actually been to many of the places depicted. And the ones that I hadn't been to, only strengthened the feeling that I need to go back and see even more of this indescribable country.

Some of them, you may even recognise from pictures I've shared on this blog!

Istanbul, despite being a colossal city, still has a surprising amount of green space. The Ataturk Arboretum, situated a 45 minute bus journey away, was a breath of fresh air. It was coast barely anything to enter, and gave me some time and space to relax, and escape from the mania of central Istanbul. it's full of naturalistic walks and places to relax, especially under the warm September sun.

As well as lots of green spaces, there's also lots of feline friends to be had. And like true Turks, they are very, very friendly.

The cats were friendly, the giant flying grasshoppers, not quite so much.
But just some advice for everyone. Istanbul is a huge city, please take care to make sure you don't get lost. Also, the city is very crowded, so several busses or metro trains may go past you until you are able to get on. Turks are not rude, so just wait patiently for your turn to get on. And perhaps most importantly, Istanbullers are crazy drivers, and will nip at your heels if you don't cross fast enough. But aside from that, enjoy the eternal city!
